Transposer

GTM Transposer

Transposer is a music transposer. With it's ease of use and "simple explanation" style, you will be transposing songs at first use. GuitarMan Transposer is not just a song/music transposer but also a learning system to be able to transpose songs without the need of transposing charts or other devices. This added feature will help develop your skills to transpose songs on the fly.

The main Transposer screen presents you with two rows of Radio buttons. One is the "Transpose From" the other is the "Transpose To". Check the radio button beside the key the song is played in then check the radio button beside the key you would like to play it in. A row of chords in each key will appear above and below an arrow line. Look at the song you need to transpose and follow the chords. Each chord will have the transposed chord below it.

There is a "Change" button for both the "Transpose To" and the "Transpose From" chord line which will change the flats (b) to sharps (#) and sharps to flats. The G# is an Ab so if the "Transpose From" chord line had a G# it would change to Ab which is the same chord. Once pressed the "Change" button becomes "Undo" which will return the chord line back to it's original state. Transposer has a "Show" button that when pressed will display the minor and seventh chords for each line. When pressed it becomes "Hide" which will hide the minor and seventh chords. You can "Show" or "Hide" the help box, which has a lot of important information about chords, at any time. This small scroll box does not interfere with viewing of the main screen and will lead you step by step through each task.

The "TEST" icon will take you to an area where you can test your ability to transpose a song from memory which is not that difficult once you get the hang of it. You will learn to transpose from the key of G to the key of D, A, C, E, F and B. Type your chords in the field boxes. You don't have to worry about capitolization After typing the last chord in the entry box the ANSWER button becomes enabled. Press it to see if you made all the correct choices. The test area also has the "Show" "Hide" help box that will guide each step.

The "Keys" button will change to another key to transpose the chord line to. With a little practice you will be able to look at a song and transpose as you play it. The more you transpose songs the better and faster you become and your knowledge of chord arrangements increases thanks to the help of Transposer.
